Maybe I am biased, maybe it’s hard for me to be objective but these are the things I felt and I have to be true to myself. But it was compensated very well by the end of the book.
I am glad I read this book as it was another book that showed Salar and Imama’s struggles to become a better Muslim and a better human being and to please Allah. It has its issues but the novel is well-rounded and resourceful. Her social work was a nice touch, the icing on the cake. I wanted to hear the lovers talk, their whispers but, apparently that’s not the Pakistani Urdu novelist’s style. The redemption of characters was exemplary, the mention of old home, Alzheimer’s and the family reunion was very apt, it really hit the mark.
Ayesha and Jibraeel had a perfect conversation in the end, Raeesa’s story although not clear was satisfactory. This book is not yet featured on Listopia. Raeesa going back to find her roots, clearing Salar’s name was definitely a very bold and a good choice. The best story finishes. The words stop here. I wanted to give this book 1 star but only gave it 2 because the last pages were good since those were the ones that were not about the two main protagonists.

The reason why this book failed to live up to my expectations was primarily that after Peer-e-Kamil as a reader I had raised my bar of expectations too hxyat.
